Deep Fried Cyber
the arena of commercial dealings
With the cybersecurity industry growing and changing at a rapid rate, it's not always easy to know where to find the solution you need.
Deep Fried Cyber is a marketplace designed to help increase the visibility of cybersecurity companies globally, especially startups and smaller companies, and help customers in researching and choosing a new solution.

Cybersecurity and Information Security ( Infosec ) have so many definitions, certifications, solution types and categories that it can be very confusing. The Knowledge Hub is here to try and answer some of those questions for you.
Sunburst - The Solarwinds Hack
A New Year always brings new challenges. One of the biggest challenges for 2021 in cybersecurity will be dealing with the fallout from the Solarwinds hack, nicknamed Sunburst.
With the breadth and scale of the attack, which first surfaced in early December with a disclosure from FireEye, the general consensus is that only a nation state, most likely Russia, had the resources and know how to execute such an operation.
With approximately 18,000 Solarwinds customers affected, many of them US Federal organisations, the cleanup operation will probably take years with many customers now taking a hard look at their supply chain partners to try and prevent a similar type of attack.
We have curated a number of indepth articles in our Knowledge Hub that should help explain how the attack took place and what to do if you think you were compromised: Knowledge Hub
Q. Why did I start Deep Fried Cyber ?
A. To get out of going to Monday morning sales meetings.
Well, that's partly true. I started Deep Fried Cyber because I realised there wasn't a defacto website that
contained details of all the current cybersecurity companies in the market. Sure, there were plenty of lists of "Top 10 cyber companies to watch in 20xx" or "Top 20 Data Protection Solutions" but never a full, definitive list I could keep referring back to.
Another bugbear was that each search engine has its own priorities in terms of promoting advertisers ahead of companies that couldn't necessarily afford the marketing spend to feature on page one of search results. I wanted a site that promoted companies based on how effective their solution was at solving a particular use case.
Now that the marketplace is up and running I have realised that providing relatively static data on a company
is one thing, providing real world insights is something very different and that is what I'm currently working on.
